We’re on the lookout for a Product Manager to manage The Cumberland’s mortgage product ranges throughout the product lifecycle.  Meeting business objectives, you’ll work in line with our values as a mutual building society.   

About the role
Reporting to the Product Lead and working closely with a range of departments including Distribution, Marketing, Operations, Credit Risk, Finance and Business Change, you’ll pro-actively managed the performance of our mortgage products and identify new product development opportunities. 

You’ll work day-to-day with our Mortgage Product Analysts on tasks that include:

  • Performance management and pricing of The Cumberland’s mortgage products for both new and existing customers to ensure they remain competitive, relevant, and compliant
  • Ongoing analysis of competitors, general market, and regulatory pricing/product developments to provide insight into tactics that deliver improved propositions, financial performance, the right outcomes and to ensure that our products continue to meet the evolving needs of our customers (both direct and via intermediaries
  •  Act as an ‘advocate’ within the business, liaising with other departments and our branch network to promote the features and benefits of the Society’s products. Providing a point of contact for sales and operational teams to resolve complex product queries and decision making on customer requests.
  • Analyse market, performance, and customer feedback data to identify trends and produce reports with recommendations on your analysis.
  • Writing clear business proposals for product changes and new product developments
  • Understand and be aware of the risk and control environment in your area of the business and adhere to processes and procedures to minimise risks.
  • Produce product governance and performance reporting to a range of internal committees and meetings including but not limited to, Product and Pricing Committee and Board.

About you
With experience in financial services, product, or commercial management, you’ll bring your knowledge of retail credit products, preferably Mortgages, along with your focus, analytical skills and desire to get results. Other skills and experience you’ll have include:

  • Commercial acumen with strong financial & return / value creation understanding
  • Knowledge of financial environment with excellent analytical skills – highly numerate
  • The ability to think and reason logically and communicate complex and challenging issues simply and constructively
  • Experience of leading a team with organisation skills to prioritise workloads and work effectively under pressure
  •  The drive needed to work on your own initiative
  •  Ability to collect, analyse and interpret data
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Challenging constructively with a focus on continuous improvement
  • Ability to think and reason logically, and to communicate complex issues simply
  •  Results driven individual with a track record of working on own initiative
  • Organised and able to prioritise to ensure deadlines are met
  • Customer focused, with an ability to understand customer needs
  • Relationship management and communication skills to drive performance
