Product Owner - Engagement Management & Finance

Enterprise-Wide Technology (EWT) 
EWT is the UK Firm’s internal technology division and is accountable for delivering a range of services to the UK Firm. Taking a holistic approach, this includes gathering requirements, solution design, build and run and the execution of complex change portfolios focused on security, data, core infrastructure and business applications. 

 

Role Purpose:
The Product Owner will create value by aligning business strategy and process goals with technology capabilities. The role will take the lead in managing the product(s), demonstrating a strong functional understanding and advising the business and taking overall accountability technology service delivery within their functional domain. 

This role currently sits in the Engagement Management & Finance Value Chain team where ERP Products such as SAP S/4Hana, Replicon, Profinda and soon to be Concur and Coupa current sit.  The Product Owner will work alongside existing Products Owners and key Business Process Owners to ensure that the solution is operable and performant whilst working with the business and vendors to evolve the solution.  
 
Key responsibilities:

  • Provide functional leadership, working closely with the Business Process Owners, Service Delivery Leads and Operations Managers to fully understand process requirements and align with product roadmaps
  • Determine and recommend functional design, focused on business objectives and desired outcomes
  • Work closely with the Technical Team to convey and explain the business needs and requirements along with relevant technical direction in line with industry and implementation best practices
  • Contribute to development of product strategy and subsequent roadmap, with special focus on S4 Hana Cloud - Professional Services module
  • Understand and practice value-based “fit to standard” delivery approach
  • Be actively involved in the preparation, conceptualisation, realisation and Go-Live of customer implementation projects
  • Support the KPMG SAP Practise with implementation projects, pre-sales support (estimating), spot consulting and internal projects and commit to the success of customers, partners, colleagues, and SAP
  • Act as primary point of contact for process improvement recommendations and changes for respective business areas with a view across the Client Opportunity and Engagement Management value chain 
  • Work with other relevant SaaS product SMEs to deliver technology transformations to support business change
  • Be a trusted advisor to business on how to improve processes specifically focused around R2R, Order to Cash, Invoicing and Billing 
  • Liaise with EWT Enterprise Architect on the wider technology landscape to ensure alignment and fit
  • Coordinate with Value Stream Release Manager on release planning, scheduling and deployments, and support conflict resolutions 
  • Liaise with Data Management CoE to provide input on data impact assessments based on any data model changes and to ensure compliance to data consistency and quality standards
  • Responsible for managing budgets, people management and performance across the business function-aligned Ops team
  • Provide oversight and guidance on major incident root cause investigations and be the point of escalation for technical issues
  • Lead point of contact with vendors on discussing options and decisions on functional changes to in-scope applications 
  • Liaise with extended business and technical teams to share knowledge, best practices and align to the strategy set by the Platform Owner 
  • Support business adoption through product demonstrations and discovery workshops
  • Encourage and enforce knowledge management and operations artefact currency
  • Represent the business function-aligned Ops team in appropriate governance forums. Chair relevant governance forums to ensure process metrics and KPIs are understood and adhered to by relevant process practitioners 
  • Work closely with Lead Solution Architect and Resilience Lead to ensure all security and resilience requirements and standards are periodically audited, monitored and adhered to
  • Analyze existing finance processes for all areas of finance, including production of inter-company invoices, WIP, Asset management, general ledger maintenance, Inter-company, and reporting
  • Integrate finance processes into the overall business process so that a complete end to end process is understood
  • Develop detailed system procedure manuals for relevant finance processes


Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • Experience of across ERP Products such as Concur, Coupa, SAP ECC/SAP S/4Hana and desirable experience across CRM, Replicon and Profinda. 
  • Experience across key Finance and Procurement business processes. 
  • Experience on Finance, Procurement driven HR business processes within SAP ECC & SAP Success Factors (bonus)
