About the role:
As a Senior Product Manager at Cuvva, you’ll play a key role in driving the delivery and evolution of our Platform team. Working closely with Engineers, Designers, and Data peers to build products that are technically sound, user-centred, and commercially impactful.
You’ll need more than just strong product instincts. This role blends technical understanding, strategic thinking, and a calm, delivery-focused mindset. You’ll comfortably hold your own in Engineering discussions, from scoping ideas and understanding trade-offs, asking the right questions, to generating solutions to reach the best outcome. You won’t need every technical detail explained, but you’ll care deeply about how things work and the wider impact they create.
You’ll also need to bring to life a long-term platform team vision, though we have something in place, we want you to come onboard and evolve it, helping shape a roadmap that balances quick wins with scalable, strategic infrastructure decisions. This means thinking ahead to enable growth, developer efficiency, and improved user experiences behind the scenes.
You’ll have a solid grasp of the Software Development Lifecycle, and be familiar with key technical domains like:
- Data Engineering: Pipelines, ETL processes, database design and management
- Cloud Infrastructure: Principles of cloud platforms like AWS, infrastructure as code, cost efficiency and scalability
- Backend and Fullstack Development: APIs, systems architecture, integration patterns
- Mobile Development: Deployment considerations and platform nuances
- Tool Proficiency: Awareness of Git, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring tools and other DevOps enablers
This role isn’t just about delivery, It’s about building the conditions for great work to happen. That means having clear and concise communication, operating as a reliable and strategic partner to stakeholders, while maintaining a thoughtful and motivating presence within your squad. You'll help shape not just what we build, but how we work together to build it.
On a day-to-day basis you’ll:
- Define success: Establish quantifiable goals that align the team with the success of the business, measuring progress and impact along the way
- Partner with Engineers: Scoping technical solutions, clarifying unknowns, and making smart, scalable decisions early
- Collaborate with Design and Data: Ensuring solutions are user-informed, insight-led, and aligned with our overall strategy
- Identify delivery risks: Spotting dependencies, proposing mitigations, and maintaining momentum
- Drive momentum: leading rituals with purpose, encouraging shared ownership, and helping teams stay focused on outcomes
- Communicate with clarity: Tailoring messages for both technical and non-technical audiences to keep everyone aligned
- Maintain clear, visible documentation: Capturing decisions, risks, and timelines across tools that support cross-team visibility
- Use practices like Agile or Scrum wisely: Not for the sake of process, but to genuinely support adaptability and impact
- Stay close to system-level thinking: Contributing to discussions around architecture and infrastructure evolution
- Ensure data-driven prioritisation: Using metrics like system uptime, cost per employee, and developer productivity
- Drive automation and operational efficiency: Identifying opportunities to reduce manual effort and improve consistency
- Maintain system reliability and performance: Making decisions that improve uptime, reduce tech debt, and support scale
- Monitor cost optimisation: Balancing technical ambition with sustainable growth and platform efficiency
- Foster a collaborative team culture: one that values learning, reflection, and shared success
You’ll do great here if you have:
- A proven track record in Product Management within a technical environment, this could be within a platform, infrastructure, or developer-facing teams etc
- Demonstrated experience in automation and operational efficiency, helping reduce manual effort and improve scalability
- A strong focus on system performance and reliability, with experience improving uptime, latency, or backend scalability
- A commercial mindset, knowing how to make decisions that reduce costs, optimise resource allocation, and improve profit per employee
- Enough technical fluency to hold your own in Engineering conversations and evaluate trade-offs between speed, scalability, and maintainability
- Curiosity and systems-thinking, someone who connects the dots between how our infrastructure works and what the business needs
- Confidence navigating ambiguity, using a blend of structure, collaboration, and insight to move forward
- A proactive belief in building healthy, inclusive teams, where learning, reflection and improvement are part of the rhythm
It’s a bonus if you:
- Have leveraged emerging tech: Building with AI or incorporate LLMs into workflows to create sustainable competitive advantages
- Have some experience within the InsurTech space
