Role overview:

The Product Manager is responsible for creating and executing the company’s product strategy and roadmap. They work collaboratively with other departments to create innovative products that meet the needs of customers, are profitable, and drive business growth. This includes leading a team of designers, and business analysts where required.

ALT21 is an innovative, award-winning, and dual-regulated FX hedging technology company. We are a fast-growing business with offices in Dublin, London and Portugal that has undergone a big change over the last year on the back of a large funding round. We build technology to simplify hedging, specialising in providing a full suite of products that are distributed through our partner channels to SME’s.

Our mission is to use technology to bring essential financial risk management products that everyday businesses need, in a way that’s easy for them to understand.


Key responsibilities and accountabilities include but are not limited to:

· Customer Focus:

o Develop a deep understanding of customer needs and pain points.

o Advocate for the customer throughout the product development process and ensure products are designed with the customer in mind.

· Alignment with the Product Strategy

o Develop and implement an execution plan for delivering our comprehensive product strategy aligned with the company's goals, vision, mission and objectives.

o This includes conducting market research, identifying customer needs, and evaluating competitor products and strategies.

o Define the product vision, target market, and value proposition.

· Product Design and Development:

o Lead the product design and development process, including ideation, conceptualisation, prototyping, testing, and launch.

Ensure that products are user-friendly, scalable, and meet the highest standards of quality.

o Conduct market research, competitive analysis, and customer feedback to identify new opportunities and improve existing products.

· Product Roadmap Management:

o Create and manage the product roadmap to ensure timely delivery of products and features.

o Develop and manage the product roadmap for your relevant Product area, ensuring that it is aligned with the company's strategic goals and meets the needs of customers.

o This includes defining product requirements, prioritising features based on customer needs, business value, and feasibility, and managing product releases.

· Product Marketing and Sales Support:

o Work closely with the marketing and sales teams to develop product positioning, messaging, and go-to-market strategies that drive adoption and revenue growth.

· Product Team Management:

o Build and lead a high-performing product squad, including designers, and business analysts.

o Develop and mentor team members to reach their full potential by setting clear goals and expectations, and provide regular feedback and performance reviews.

o Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning across the firm.

o Build a culture of accountability and ownership by empowering the product team to make decisions as close to the work as possible.

· Stakeholder Management:

o Work collaboratively with other departments, including sales, compliance, trading desk, technology, marketing, operations, finance and customer support to ensure that products are developed and launched on time, within budget, and meet the company's standards of quality.

o

· Product Analytics:

o Establish Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Objects and Key Results (OKRs) to measure product success and ensure alignment with senior leadership.

o Analyse data-driven insights and user feedback to measure product performance, identify areas for improvement, and make data-informed decisions about product development and iterate on the product strategy.

· Regulatory Compliance:

o Ensure product compliance with industry regulations and standards.

o Stay up-to-date with changes in regulatory requirements and adjust the product strategy as needed.

· Innovation:

o Foster a culture of innovation and experimentation.

Encourage team members to think outside the box and explore new ideas and technologies.

o Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and customer needs to drive product innovation and differentiation.


Person Specification

Essential

· The ideal candidate should possess excellent communication, leadership, and analytical skills.

· The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Fintech product development, strategy, and management.

· Track record of growing successful, customer-centric digital products in a fast growing technology company

· Ability to communicate clearly, in a structured way, and persuasively to a wide range of audiences

· You have the urge and resilience to challenge the status quo and make things better

· You can systematically break down and then solve complex problems (for customers and the business)

· You’re comfortable working in a deeply collaborative, highly technical team

· You’re passionate about learning every day and sharing your knowledge and experience.

Desirable

· Data driven, commercially savvy, passionate about metrics, and intellectually honest about how your work is performing and driven to continuously improve it.

· Advanced knowledge of experimentation stacks.

· Knowledge of Foreign Exchange Hedging Products

· Knowledge of Payments and Open Banking
