Purpose of the Role 

 

Product Manager who thrives in a dynamic environment to identify both the current and future business challenges our customers face and clearly articulate the value that we could bring through our Data Platform solutions to solve those challenges. 

Working with our engineering teams, you will own a product or product components and be responsible for creating value for our customers and the business. You will own the entire Product lifecycle for your products, identifying new opportunities to add value through product discovery whilst also managing and prioritising the product backlog 

 

You will work on a variety of challenges to deliver complex products and solutions, which ultimately enable race engineers and strategists to access powerful, race-winning insights in F1 and other motorsports series.  

 

Our software combines many capabilities, including data capture, visualization and modelling of real time and historic data for detailed analysis, reporting, anomaly detection and enabling the best strategic decisions to be made. 

 

Principal Accountabilities 


Day-to-day responsibilities will span the entire product management lifecycle and include deep interaction with customers, sales, and engineering. 

 

  • Take ownership of managing assigned product portfolio in its primary markets and assisting in establishing the portfolio in other markets.  
  • Own the business rationale for the product, covering existing and future products over full lifecycle - concept to end of life.  
  • Manage the full lifecycle of the product – from strategic planning to tactical activities: 
  • Working with the Business unit, understand the market landscape, conducting market research to specify market needs for current and future products, and translate into product requirements.  
  • Develop business cases to support investment requests - leading the creation of supporting material including portfolio financial forecasts, product pricing & business models.  
  • Manage and own the roadmap, including prioritization of bug-fixing and feature requests.  
  • Define product specs, user stories, mockups, acceptance criteria and drive execution in collaboration with engineering and QA 
  • Engage with customers, develop insights into what is possible, and transform them into clear value propositions and results 
  • Define and evolve the product roadmap for our data platform portfolio 
  • Collaborate closely with other Product Managers to support hardware and embedded products, ensuring a cohesive market proposition that integrates multiple products seamlessly 
  • Own and report on key KPIs for product performance, including business cases, product P&L and ROI 
  • Collaborate with product marketing and business teams to support content creation, product positioning, pricing and drive Go-To-Market 


Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications and Experience 


  • Strong technical background. Preferably a degree in engineering or science discipline. 
  • Experience in working in product management teams in disruptive technology environments, specifically with software products. 
  • Ability to tactfully challenge without alienating and build a strong internal network to support ability to influence. 
  • Able to interpret and communicate general financial and accounting information from a product perspective and understand the financial impact of decisions.  
  • Identifies and prioritises issues and takes a proactive approach to dealing with them. 
  • Thinks creatively to produce workable ideas and novel solutions. 
  • Takes a collaborative approach to achieving results.
