About the Team

The media team at the GSMA is responsible for the delivery of news and insights on the global mobile industry to its subscriber base of 180k readers.

Using the Mobile World Live brand, the team provides products and services to companies in the technology industry, helping them reach their audience through advertising or co-branded content.

The team is also responsible for generating revenue to support the GSMA. It consists of three groups: editorial (content creation), operations (advertising and content project delivery), and sales (revenue generation through new and existing clients).

About the Role

This is a new role in the team which has been identified due to an increasing need to look after our key business asset – our readers!

Our readers read the Mobile World Live daily newsletter and visit our website every day and we need to make sure they have the optimum experience.

The Product Manager will be responsible for making sure content is presented in the most optimum way to make sure it has the highest visibility and discoverability. The role will be responsible for making sure content is tagged correctly and images have the correct meta-data.

You will be responsible for analysing site performance and looking at what types of news stories are attracting the right audiences and reporting that to the team via weekly and monthly reviews You will also be analysing both external and internal search and how that impacts site performance.

You will also closely monitor subscribers to our daily newsletter and understand what content is driving the most website traffic and also what content is causing the most churn. In addition you will support the daily production process of all MWL newsletters via Salesforce Marketing Cloud.

You will take the lead on daily social media output and manage this strategy. Other areas of production will include support of multimedia (video/podcast) content publication.

The two main objectives of the role are to maintain and grow both website traffic and readership of our newsletters.

About You

You will have some experience in digital media by maintaining content on a website and, useful but not essential, email-based content either in a marketing or publishing role.

You will have used a content management system of some sort (WordPress ideally).

You will understand basic website performance data and have used Google Analytics (there is already an analytics specialist in the development team, so deep understanding in this area is not required).

You will have some basic graphics knowledge and used Adobe Photoshop or similar.

You will have experience in writing short content and some creative writing skills.

You will enjoy working in a team and contributing to the success of the business and happy to make regular informal presentations to the group.

You will have a keen eye for detail and put a high value on quality of content.
